  15. This document refers to software application 'When and Where',
  16. version 1.  Extensive details are provided in the on-line help.  Without
  17. exception all rights to When and Where belong in perpetuity to the
  18. authors KazMax Ltd.

  20. Note:  This document and contents and all other references shall at all
  21. times be subject to being superceded by a later version.  At all times
  22. the latest version of this application made publicly available by the
  23. authors shall take precedence, immediately cancelling and replacing all
  24. earlier versions and extents.  Please contact the authors to clarify and

  28. Overview
  29. ========
  30. 'When and Where' is a Microsoft Windows (r) application to help ease
  31. the burden of scheduling sporting activities and events - it is not
  32. limited to any sport in particular, and in fact will work for ANY
  33. activity which requires a future schedule to be built!  Any number of
  34. divisions can be co-hosted, and each division can have up to 180 teams.
  35. Scheduling includes team fixtures, venues/fields, and game officials too.

  37. All features of this application are highly user-configrable to suit
  38. any sporting arrangement, at any level of the sport.

  40. If you evaluate this software and decide that it is not what you want
  41. because it lacks a feature that you would really like to see, please
  42. tell us - we may be able to help!  In the past many good ideas which
  43. have been implemented in our software applications have come directly
  44. from user feedback - sometimes those ideas are turned around in just a
  45. day or two, to the surprise of our users!

  49. =================================
  50. Try-before-you-buy is exactly what it says - try the software for free,
  51. and if it meets your needs, place an order to purchase it.  If it
  52. doesn't meet your needs then stop using it, delete it from your system
  53. and you owe us nothing.

  58. The target audience for this application will be adminstrators who are
  59. tasked with the responsibility to create league schedules, including the
  60. scheduling of teams, venues AND game officials!

  107. Target Platforms
  108. ================
  109. Two versions of When and Where are provided in this archive.  One is for
  110. Windows 3.x systems, the other is for Windows 95/NT systems.  Both share
  111. a common database.  The included installation utility (SETUP.EXE) offers
  112. you the choice of which to install.

  123. Environmental Requirements

  125. MS Windows 3.x with a 386 PC or better.  Recommended minimum 8 megabytes
  126. RAM, and a 66MHz CPU or better.

  128. MS Windows 95/NT with a 386 PC or better.  Recommended minimum 16
  129. megabytes RAM, and a 66MHz CPU or better.

  132. Licensing
  133. =========
  134.  
  135. When and Where is released under the try-before-you-buy concept (the
  136. authors are a member of the Association of Shareware Professionals).
  137. The try-before-you-buy version is fully functional and unlimited for 30
  138. days or 30 hours of cumulative use to allow the user to fully evaluate
  139. the software.  On completion of the evaluation period the software will
  140. still operate to allow the user to access data previously entered, and
  141. to create new schedules.
  142.  
  143. During the evaluation period the user is provided with the right to use
  144. the software for evaluation purposes, without obligation to obtain a
  145. license.  However, once the evaluation period is over (30 days from
  146. installation or 30 hours use), this right is automatically revoked.
  147.  
  148. Licensing is provided on a named-individual basis only.  Licensing will
  149. not be carried out in the name of a club or other organisation.
  150.  
  151. The user is REQUIRED to obtain a license from the authors to allow
  152. continued use of the software on completion of the evaluation period, by
  153. payment of the requested fee (see the on-line help under 'Licensing'
  154. for further information).  Acceptance of the license fee by the
  155. authors will provide the user with the non-transferrable, non-exclusive
  156. and revokable permission to continue using this software, and both the
  157. user and authors shall be bound to the terms and conditions as expressed
  158. in the LATEST PUBLICLY AVAILABLE VERSION.

  160. WITHOUT EXCEPTION all rights to When and Where and its extents,
  161. including but not limited to copyright and intellectual rights, belong
  162. to the authors in perpetuity - payment for licensing this software
  163. does not under any circumstance transfer these rights.  Licensing is
  164. provided on a single-user basis only.  Full details and terms and
  165. conditions are contained within the on-line help under 'Licensing'.

  167. Failure to obtain a license from the authors on completion of the
  168. evaluation period, or attempting to extend the evaluation period using
  169. methods not supported by the authors renders further use of the software
  170. an illegal activity on the part of the user.  Such activity will be
  171. subject to legal action if considered appropriate by the authors.

  174. Warranty
  175. ========
  176. Installation and/or use of this software is entirely at the users own
  177. risk.  With the sole exception of defective media (which shall be
  178. replaced without charge if notified within 15 days of shipment) THERE IS
  179. NO WARRANTY PROVIDED WITH THIS SOFTWARE.

  181. Any and all harmful and/or unexpected side effects of installing and/or
  182. using this software will be the sole responsibility of the person
  183. undertaking the installation and/or use.  Under no circumstance can the
  184. authors be held liable for consequential effects of installing/using
  185. this software.  Any claims for damages and/or harmful effects shall be
  186. limited to the maximum of a single license fee.

  191. Licesing Options
  192. ================
  193. The user may choose from a number of options to facilitate licensing of
  194. this software.  These options are explained in detail within the on-line
  195. help provided with the application (see under 'Licesning').

  197. Options include cheque, cash and credit card.  On-line transactions can
  198. be carried out via an arrangement undertaken with the Public (software)
  199. Library.

  202. Registration Benefits
  203. =====================
  204. *  Latest version on a diskette.

  206. *  Personalised copy of the application, via user name/unique serial
  207.    number.

  209. *  All future minor versions (1.xx.xx) will be self-registrable, and
  210.    free of charge to the registered user [excepting p&p costs if
  211.    we are requested to supply on diskette].

  213. *  As new releases become available, notification will be offered via
  214.    Email.

  216. *  Free technical support from the authors - minimum of six months.

  221. Technical support from the authors is available to all licensed users,
  222. and shall be for a minimum of six months from first purchase.

  225. and/or bugs in a timely manner.
